Introduction to 718 and 719 Series Angular Contact Bearing

The 718 and 719 Series Angular Contact Bearings can simultaneously support the radial loads and axial loads with a high rotational speed. The greater contact angle leads to higher axial loading capacity and lower speed limitation. The bearings must be carefully adjusted to achieve the required operating clearance or preload before installing the bearing manufacturer. This type of bearings also can be installed in a group to increase their loading capacity. 

HGT precision spherical angular contact ball bearings have two series, 718 series, and 719 series. Their outer diameter and width increase in sequence for bearings with the same inner diameter. And they often need to be assembled and installed with other approaches that bear axial loads in the opposite direction. Therefore. Angular contact ball bearings are combined with a double triple-combination, quadruple, or even quintuple combination.

Contact angle

The contact angles of the HGT light series Precision Angular Contact Ball Bearing include 15, 25, and 40 degrees. For Angular Contact Ball Bearing, the axial load ability is more prominent. And the limit speed is lower when the contact angle is more significant. Therefore bearing with 15 degrees contact angle should be adopted on central shaft with high rotation speed and small axial load. The bearing with 25 degrees or 40 degrees contact angle should be adopted under opposite conditions.

The inner and outer rings are made of High Carbon Chrome Bearing Steel for rolling bearing used under standard working conditions. However, steel bearing cannot satisfy working conditions under some applications such as extra-high speed, wear resistance, low temperature rise, long life, and high reliability. Bearing material with superior performance should be selected under this circumstance. Silicon Oxide is generally considered the ideal substitute for rolling bearing material.

Special design of 718 and 719 Series Angular Contact Bearings
