HGT thin section tapered roller bearings offer advantages to end-users requiring an approach of supporting axial forces (i.e., they are suitable thrust bearings) as well as radial forces. And also need bearings that have higher capacity, lightweight. So the thin section tapered roller bearings are designed for this purpose. They are used to advantage in applications where space and weight considerations are meaningful.
The inner and outer ring raceways of tapered roller bearings are segments of cones. The rollers are tapered so that the conical surfaces of the raceways, and the roller axes if projected, would all meet at a common point on the central axis of the bearing. This geometry makes the motion of the cones remain coaxial, with no sliding motion between the raceways and the outside diameter of the rollers.
